About The Woodlands Newcomers & Friends
You have friends here. You just haven't met us yet!

The Woodlands Newcomers & Friends is a fun social organization that fosters strong networking within the community and enriching experiences via various interest groups. The club is open to residents of The Woodlands and surrounding communities including Shenandoah, Conroe, Oak Ridge, Tomball, Magnolia and Spring.

Membership dues are $40 per year, which runs from April 1st through March 31st. Members who join more than half way through the year are charges a prorated fee. The best way to learn about our club is to meet us! Every month we hold a coffee at the home of one of our members or a local establishment. It's a great way to meet other members or to introduce a guest. The food is delicious and the company is very friendly. Look for the next coffee on our Calendar Events page.

EVENING—Book Club

We meet the 1st Thursday of each month.  If you would like to participate, please join the interest group to receive the monthly updates with book titles and location.  For more information, email Gloria.

Cocktail Cuties

We are a group of ladies who enjoy getting together at different restaurants throughout the Woodlands for Happy Hour to enjoy appetizers and beverages at reduced prices while enjoying the company of old and new friends within our club.  We meet every fourth Wednesday of the month unless a holiday gets in the way. 

Mah Jongg – Evening Group

Mah Jongg is an ancient Chinese game combining elements of dominos, Gin Rummy & poker. Play is from 6:30 to 9 p.m. on the first and third Wednesdays of the month.

Mexican Train - This group is full at this time.

Mexican Train meets on the 4th Saturday of the month in our members’ homes.

Partners Euchre & Mingle Night

Euchre is a fun, fast-paced, and easy-to-learn card game! If you haven’ t played, don’t worry, we  can teach you! We have appetizers and drinks at7 p.m. and we start  playing Euchre at 7:30 p.m. We mingle some more after cards.

Book Club 1: This Group is full at this time. We met on the 1st Tuesday each month. Noon to 3 p.m.


Lunch Bunch
Ladies, take a nice break during the day and meet us for lunch with the "Lunch Bunch". We will meet every second week for lunch. The days of the week may change to accommodate every ones busy schedule. 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Mah Jongg Group 1

Shanghai Rummy 1 and 2

Shanghai Rummy is a card game of unknown origin. Some say China, others say Mexico. Wherever it started, it is lots of fun! We meet at 11 a.m. every Tuesday in a restaurant. If you never played, don’t worry because the game is easy to learn. A training session is required before attending the game at the restaurant. Although Shanghai Rummy 1 is closed to new members, we would love to have you join our Shanghai Rummy 2 group. To become a member of group2, please click on “View Members”. Then, click on the “Sign Me Up” tab.
